Subject: We’re making Penn Libraries better, together

Colleagues,

A few weeks ago, I shared six key areas where we have taken staff feedback and turned it into immediate action to make the Penn Libraries better. I’m proud of these developments, and even more proud that there are many other examples of how we are collaborating and listening. With the ideas and help of staff from across the Libraries, in partnership with the leadership team, we’ve accomplished so much already and I want to celebrate that today.

The many recommendations from staff over the past year have resulted in tangible solutions, solutions derived from a close working relationship with our staff. I’m motivated by what we’ve already accomplished: communicating better with each other, reducing turnover, rewarding performance with directly aligned merit increases, converting term staff to regular appointments, and improving our professional development funding and policies.

I don’t want to lose that opportunity to work directly alongside you in identifying improvements and seeking solutions. Working together, we can continue to make Penn Libraries better.

Please take time to review this information and more available at Facts4PennLibraries.org and reach out with any questions or concerns you might have.
